  • Subterranean Masquerade – Home

Recommended: Home

After “Suspended Animation Dreams” in 2005 with a rating of 9/10 on Metal Storm and 4.19/5 on ProgArchive, you cannot expect less from this EP.

The smart mix of genres by a talented band, this time with more Oriental Influence; Orchestral Arabic/oriental work mixed with old British new wave/progressive/death metal. Subterranean Masquerade have established their own sound, becoming an easy to recognize unique band. The only problem is that the releases are scarce but definitely worth the wait. The band says an album called “In Pastille Colors” is also on the way, this is just a treat!

  • Nero Di Marte – Nero Di Marte

Recommended: Nero Di Marte, Drawn Back, Convergence

Nero Di Marte is a progressive death metal band from Bologna, Italy. In the same vein as their European counterparts, the Frenchmen of Gojira, Nero Di Marte take the more atmospheric approach to modern death metal. The music consists of a continuous thick and heavy layer of finely structured riffs. The main groove is echoed with slow and harsh vocals and backed by some excellent drumming. A truly interesting album overall, and apparently, the band also already finished writing material for a new album!

The album is available for purchase and streaming on the band’s Bandcamp page http://nerodimarte.bandcamp.com/
