We would like to welcome Mario Mansour, Engraved’s Bassist and thank him for the interview.

  • What’s the origin of that name? Have you changed the band’s name before?

Mario: First of all, we would like to give our full support and appreciation to Lebmetal for doing such an amazing job for the scene, and hope it continues this way. Well the word “Engraved” itself, means to cut into a surface, which leaves a permanent mark, which is what we want to do with the band. We want to be “Engraved” in people’s mind due to our music and all the positive intentions we give to everyone who appreciates our music.

  • What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?

Mario: Our music is basically a mix of metalcore/deathcore riffs, blasting and fast tempo-ed drums, and different varities of high/low/mid pitch vocals. Our major influences are mainly Parkway Drive, I Killed The Prom Queen, As I Lay Dying, Bring Me The Horizon, and All Shall Perish. There are many more but those are the main influences in our music.

  • You passed on many gigs this year… Does that have anything to do with the fact that you’re scheduled to play at Summer Fusion?”

Mario: Yeah we think that’s probably the main reason. You have to show yourselves as often as possible to be noticed, especially by the bigger organizers, and eventually we were (definitely our full apprecation and support to Rockring for giving us the chance to perform), and make sure you always give your best on stage and enjoy the music you play and have a good interaction with the crowd, that’s a very important factor for us.

  • Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues?

Mario: We have performed in several places. Our first gig was in Terra Cottá Monot back in July 2008, then many gigs in Nova after that (mainly most of our performances were there), and we performed at Into The Pit that took place in Tantra Kaslik, and Battle Of The Bands in The Doctor’s Syndicate, Furn El Chebbek, which was our last performance.

Our favorite venues are Tantra and soon to be Mocean :D, Nova is most probably our least favorite venue, maybe because we’ve performed many times over there and are bored of it haha.

  • Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?

Mario: We all work together in writing our music. Most of the time we make jam sessions and write our music together, which is something I find very important in a band. The main topics and themes (which you will notice in our soon to be released EP “The Hidden Truth”,) is about how people make wrong decisions and have negative intentions towards our world today. Our lyrics show the reality of what’s going on today, and we certainly hope they would inspire anyone who reads them.

  • Anything else you want to add to your fans and for Lebmetal ?

Mario: We would like to thank you Lebmetal for interviewing us, been a pleasure, and to our fans, we hope to see you on the 11th of September, biggest event of the year and certainly not to be missed! We promise to deliver you the best metalcore/deathcore material, and no doubt about our performance 😉 and would like to thank everyone who has supported us all this time and the days to come!

Thank You again, and Keep It Hardcore 😉
