This article is not for promoting Last.fm but to show music lovers how they can benefit from the services from that website.
Last.fm can be very helpful to the scene and the Lebanese bands.

I have discovered Last.fm in 2005 joined and never was able to leave… as much as Facebook is interesting for people to keep contact and dating, Last.fm is even better for keeping contact with the bands and “dating” your musical match!
The best thing available only on last.fm is called “scrobbler”. (reflects the status of any band or artist). It’s a safe software you download after you register in the website. You activate the software through a Windows Media Player Plugin (or Winamp.. ) and it keeps records of tracks you listen to. At the end of each week you will have your own top tracks / top albums of the week. (The month / 6 month / year)

I encourage any Lebanese metalhead to have an account on Last.fm which will result in much scrobbling of the Lebanese Bands since the software posts the track on you page and adds one scrobble to the band you’re listening to (when you listened to more than half the track).
Listening to more and more Lebanese bands will increase their scrobles and attract more listeners and more interest to the bands.
Usually international starting bands with low media attention promote themselves through Myspace and Last.fm and reach scrobles close to 15000 as a start.
In our local scene, there is one band with enough considerable scrobbels >> Kimaera: http://www.last.fm/music/Kimaera with more than 21000 scrobble.
Other Lebanese bands are still under-rated with the scrobles they have gotten.

The numbers show how low the Lebanese activity is on Last.fm and thus reflecting lack on interest in Rock/metal music in Lebanon. We need to change that!
