The UK’s Metal Hammer magazine just posted a brand new video clip of the mighty Slayer in the studio recording a track for their brand new album, due out Summer 2009.
The members of Slayer – Tom Araya/bass & vocals, Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman/guitars, and Dave Lombardo/drums – spent a couple of weeks in a Southern California recording studio earlier this month tracking three new songs, including the one featured in the Metal Hammer clip – “Psychopathy Red,” a Hanneman-penned track that gives a chilling look into the twisted mind of Andrei Chikatilo, a notorious Russian serial killer.
Slayer kicked off the “Unholy Alliance Tour — Chapter III” tonight with a sold-out show in Manchester, England with Mastodon, Trivium and Amon Amarth. The 24-concert tour will wrap up in Helsinki on November 27. Slayer then plans to return to the studio early next near to finish the new album.
Last Friday, Spin.com posted their own exclusive clip of Slayer in the studio. And there’s also a great six-part interview with Slayer’s Tom Araya from 2007 right here on Starpulse.
